The art of having fun with creativity

Remember that art is a process.  The process is supposed to be fun.  For our purposes "the journey is always the only arrival" may be interpreted to mean that our creative wor is actually our creativity itself at play in the field of time.  At the heart of this play is the mystery of joy.
Julia Cameron
The Artist Way

In the book The Artist Way Cameron explains beautifully how we forget to have fun with our  art and reminds us to be childlike again.

It is very true that as we grow up we become very serious about artistic activities that were fun before.  We impose ourselves the burden of having to render results.  We develop very clear objectives of where we want to go with our art.  We become goal oriented.  Then we forget to have fun, to enjoy the process.  Creativity lies in the joy of the process.  It is here where our soul manifest into our creations.  Our childish, joyful and playful heart is the heart of creativity.  It is merely God's gift for his children.

When we are to worried about the results of our creations, to worried about pleasing others, particularity when become to concerned about  money as reward for our work, we lose our spontaneity.  We lose our creativity.  We become afraid.  Art and fear do not dance together!
