Do what you feel in your heart to be right – for you’ll be criticized anyway."

When you doubt yourself or criticize your abilities, it is as if you are stuck in a deep hole in the ground. Every time you want to climb up out of the hole, your self doubt and criticism push you back down. The more you listen to other people's opinions as your truth, the deeper down the hole you go.
Think of some of the doubts that you have had about your talents or abilities in the last year. Has your attitude been helpful, or does it fill you with hopelessness? Have you been on the self pity train? That kind of attitude will always push you straight down into the hole.
Today is the day that YOU DECIDE enough is enough!! You want to escape this black hole of misery created with your own critical voice. You look around the hole and notice a ladder leaning against the side. You look up and see a circle of light at the top. The ladder represent your unique qualities. You have a lot of creativity inside you, but you have been burying it down this hole. With an acknowledgement of each of your qualities and talents you take one step up the ladder toward the light. I is the only way up, and you are equipped to get out. Think about each talent and each ability and start climbing.
A few rungs up some self doubt appears. Thank it for showing up, but tell your doubt that you have decided to bypass it. Visualize this doubt fly up and dissipate into the light above. You continue to climb the ladder and are almost at the top. If a criticism pops into mind, again thank it and tell it to join doubt in the light.
Finally give your self one big push past all that 'junk' with which you have been criticizing yourself, and emerge victorious out of the hole. The sun is bright. The light of the universe shines its love and admiration upon you. From now on, whenever you criticize yourself or doubt your ability, think of the hole and know that you have conquered it. You stay true to your creative abilities, and release doubt and criticism into the light and move on.
